The Jacksonville Commodores League,
Inc. (JCL) was incorporated as a non-profit corporation by a group of
business leaders approximately 30 years ago. The primary purpose of the
organization was, and still is, to promote the industrial and economic
welfare of the City of Jacksonville by entertaining visiting dignitaries and
businessman with boat cruises on the St. Johns River. The boats utilized
for these cruises are privately owned yachts and are operated and crewed by
members of the club.
The JCL usually meets once a month for a
business meeting and lunch to enjoy speakers from local business and
government organizations about subjects that affect Jacksonville, pleasure boating and the
St. Johns River. The JCL has approximately 60 members and is
managed and organized by a Board of Directors and a number of committees as
listed in the left column of this page.
